Rimon Guimarães a.k.a. Rimon (1988) is a self-taught artist from Curitiba (PA), quickly inserting himself in the international world of contemporary art. His paintings come to existence by the experiences he has adapting himself to his urban surroundings. His works are a combination of all sorts of media such as design, performing art, video and music in galleries as well as painting in public space.
The stressful city and his dissatisfaction about the actual situation in the world inspire him to make a statement against mass politics and capitalist publicity which promote their greedy politics without truly caring about the people. With his art in public space Rimon wants to take people away from their monotonous daily routines and provoke them to see the street as a place where they can exchange real-life experiences instead of seeing it only as a pass-through.
Rimon participated in many collective exhibitions in Brazil, and is paving his way with individual exhibitions since 2005, some of which in Porto Alegre, Antwerp (Belgium), São Paulo, Londrina, Buenos Aires (Argentina) and Belo Horizonte.
